Aid to Ukraine: the ambassador confirmed the consideration of the "clean" draft law by the Senate

On Thursday, February 8, the US Senate will re-consider a "clean" draft law on aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan without migration reform. Oksana Markarova, Ukraine's ambassador to the United States, announced this on Thursday, February 8.
According to her, the big package (Ukraine / Israel / Taiwan / migration reform) was not supported due to the lack of votes for the migration reform agreement, which negotiators have been working on for the past months.
"That's why even before the vote on the Big Package, the appropriations committee published the text of the "replacement" document, which provides exclusively for international aid to Ukraine (USD 60.06 billion), Israel and Taiwan," she said.
The Senate supported the procedural decision to review the voting decision, the diplomat noted. It is necessary to put to a vote the question of ending the debate and considering the essentially "pure" draft law on US international aid without migration reform. 60 votes are needed for this.
"The evening session closed, Majority Leader Schumer announced that he intends to put to a vote the question to end the debate on the bill on US international assistance, which includes Ukraine, Israel and the countries of the Indo-Pacific region, at 12 noon Washington time (7:00 p.m. Kyiv – ed.) on February 8," the ambassador noted.
