Derzhkino appointed a new director of the Dovzhenka film studio

Due to the martial law, the new director of the film studio named after Oleksandr Dovzhenko was appointed without competitive selection.

The appointment decree was issued on May 8, and in connection with the military situation, the new head of the film studio was appointed without competitive selection.

Andrii Vitaliyovych Donchyk is a Ukrainian film and television director, producer, Honored Artist of Ukraine, winner of the Venice Film Festival Film Critics Prize, member of the National Union of Cinematographers, chairman of the Council for State Support of Cinematography from 2019 to 2021.

In 1999-2004, Donchyk was the chief director of the 1+1 channel.

Since October 2014, he has been the chairman of the Expert Council for the selection of film projects for the provision of state financial support for the production and distribution of national films at the State Cinema.

From 2016 to 2018, he was a member of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine committee.

In 2018-2021, he headed the Council for State Support of Cinematography.

Since 2020, he has been the artistic director of the course, a professor of the Department of Film and Television Directing at the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts.

Among the films directed by him: Volodymyr Sosyura , Death of the Gods , Oxygen Hunger , Stolen Happiness , Hell Banner, or Christmas Cossacks and Cyborgs. Heroes don't die.
