German direct investment in Kazakhstan to reach record $770 million in 2023

Last year, direct German investment in Kazakhstan increased by 64% to a record level of 770 million dollars, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at a meeting with Katrina Klaas-Mühlhäuser, head of the board of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy, on May 15.

Determining Germany as a strategic partner of Kazakhstan in the European Union, Tokayev noted the positive trends in the development of trade and economic relations, as well as the growing interest of German business in expanding its presence in Kazakhstan.

Speaking about cooperation in the agricultural sector, the President recalled his proposal to create a Regional Center for Sustainable Agriculture, which will promote more effective use of Kazakhstan's agricultural potential, promote the introduction of innovative technologies and their commercialization.

Tokayev highly appreciated the contribution of the CLAAS group, whose supervisory board is also headed by Claas-Mühlhäuser, to the development of Kazakhstan's agricultural potential.
