There are 310 hydrotechnical structures in the Almaty region, including 72 reservoirs, 112 ponds, 13 dams, 14 water intake structures, and 99 main canals.
"We decided to start an action on Issyk. This lake is important to us as a source of drinking water and irrigation. We also have several cascading hydroelectric plants here. Previously, the lake was the property of individual entrepreneurs, and last year, through the court, it was returned to the property of the state. Now the lake is not in the best condition. That's why we started clearing and landscaping this area," Sultangaziyev said.
In the Zhetysu region, 2,000 people cleaned the banks of 19 rivers and canals of Koksu, Kora, Chazha, Byzhi, Karasu, Karatal and removed 31 tons of garbage.
In addition, in the Karaganda region, more than 100 people dedicated the Defender of the Fatherland Day to cleaning the territory of the Bukpa River. They collected more than 300 bags of garbage and cleaned the riverbed.
"Over 5,000 tons of garbage were collected during the month devoted to the "Taza Kazakhstan" campaign, and about 10,000 city residents took part in the cleanup," said Rinat Karzhasbaev, deputy akim of the Kazibek Bi district of the Karaganda region. .
In addition, the residents of the Abai district of the Karaganda region organized a Saturday festival at springs and reservoirs, removing garbage, dry matter and silt from the water. More than 10 tons of garbage were collected.
"Crystal-clear and tasty water is collected from the springs not only by residents, but also by those who drive along the highway. That's why we have to clean here every spring. In the Kyzylorda Region, more than 20,000 people, including representatives of the authorities, private organizations and volunteers, cleaned the embankment areas of the Syr Darya River, such as the Akkumshik beach and the Kariboget bridge, as well as the lakes of Laikol, Kambash, Zhalanash, Shomishkol, Raiim, and Tuschi , Iirkol, Karazek, Alimkol. More than 40 tons of garbage were collected.
At the same time, in the Akmola region, known for its picturesque lakes and rivers, landscaping was carried out in the Burabai, Atbasar, Arshaly, Yerementau, Korgalzhyn, Zerendin districts and the city of Kokshetau.
Considerable cleaning was carried out along the coastal areas of the Yesil River, the shores of Mala and Velika Saraba lakes, and the vicinity of Anarkol Lake in the Arshaly district. More than 1,500 residents cleared 22.5 kilometers of shoreline and removed approximately 63 tons of trash.
According to Burabai district mayor Arai Sadikov, about 3,000 people took part in the action, including volunteers, leaders of youth organizations, medical and educational institutions, civil servants, sports veterans, and representatives of the creative industry.
"As a region that is visited annually by more than a million tourists, we always pay special attention to the issue of cleanliness. Since the beginning of the Taza Kazakhstan environmental campaign, more than 12,000 tons of garbage have been collected," said Sadikov.
