The World Judo Championship can be held in Kazakhstan

Such competitions were already held in the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2015. The International Judo Federation has informed, as far as possible, that the World Championship will be held again in Astana.
At the briefing in honor of the start of the Qazaqstan barysy Grand Slam tournament, journalists asked representatives of the International Judo Federation how interested they were in holding the World Championship in Astana.
"We are open to returning to Astana. That would be fantastic. But we have to discuss it with the Judo Federation of Kazakhstan", – answered the general secretary of the International Judo Federation Lisa Alan.
It will be recalled that the World Judo Championship was already held in Kazakhstan in 2015. At that time, athletes from Japan won the overall standings, having eight gold, four silver and five bronze medals. The Kazakhstan team took fourth place with one gold and one silver medal.
The chief referee of the International Judo Federation, Armen Baghdasarov, noted that today Kazakhstan has much more opportunities to hold major tournaments than in 2015. Therefore, if the World Cup returns to Astana, it will be much better than the previous one.
