The former president of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was not allowed to participate in the elections in the country

The representative of the election staff at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Iran, Mohsen Eslami, officially announced the names of six candidates for the presidency of the country. He stated this on the air of the IRIB TV channel.

Thus, the list includes the mayor of Tehran, Alireza Zakani, the speaker of the parliament (Majlis), Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, and the representative of the Supreme Leader of Iran in the National Security Council of the Republic, Said Jalili. In addition, MP Masoud Pezeshkiyan, former prosecutor of the country Mustafa Pourmohammadi and Vice President Gazizadeh Hashemi added to the list of applicants.

At the same time, the former president of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and the ex-speaker of the parliament, Ali Larijani, were not allowed to participate in the elections.
