In Tbilisi, on Sunday evening, a multi-thousand-thousand-strong protest against the law "On transparency of foreign influence", which threatens the Western course and European integration of Georgia, continues, a clash with the police took place.

Representatives of the opposition, civil activists and ordinary citizens take part in the "European March" organized by the non-governmental sector and youth movements.

A column of thousands of protesters stretched across Rustaveli Avenue.

The organizers of the action call on the authorities to cancel the second reading of the bill "On transparency of foreign influence" in the legal committee, scheduled for Monday.

After the speech of the organizers and leaders of the action, its participants headed towards the parliament and surrounded the building of the legislative body with a symbolic "living chain".

As "Georgia online" reports, the situation near the parliament has become more complicated. Participants of the action are trying to get to the stage prepared for Monday's rally of the ruling party. The scene is guarded by the police. As a result, there was a small skirmish with the police. Protesters took away a part of the fence installed on the territory in front of the building from the law enforcement officers.

Most of the rally participants are in front of the parliament. Several hundred policemen are monitoring the order. They were located mainly along the fences, which were put up for the rally on Monday, organized by "Georgian Dream". The police do not allow the participants of the rally to approach the stage. Special forces are also on duty on the territory.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs published a statement on its website with a call not to go beyond the limits of freedom of assembly permitted by law and not to break the stage set before the parliament. "Any violation of the law will be stopped immediately by the police," the statement said.

Rallies near the parliament in the capital of Georgia have been held every day since April 15, but after the first few days they are mostly small actions organized by students.

Consideration of the project "On transparency of foreign influence" in the second reading is planned for April 29.

On the same day, the ruling party "Georgian Dream" invited its supporters to a rally.

Signals continue to come from Georgia's Western partners that the draft law is incompatible with the country's Western course.

This week, the European Parliament adopted a resolution calling on the EU not to start membership negotiations with Georgia while the scandalous law "On transparency of foreign influence" is in force. The Georgian authorities expressed their indignation at such a step.
