"ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih" brought additional capacity out of idleness

In April 2024, the largest metallurgical plant "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih" in Ukraine launched two coke batteries and a blast furnace – this allowed to increase the production of steel and rolled products.

This was reported by the company's press service.

"After the repair, the operation of the blast furnace No. 6 was resumed, and the production of coke at the coke batteries No. 3 and 4 was started," the message says.

It is noted that this made it possible to increase the production of steel and rolled products: compared to April 2023, the production of steel increased by 90% (from 86 to 163 thousand tons), of rolled products – by 95% (from 78 to 152 thousand tons).

Production volumes also increased compared to March 2024 – pig iron was produced by 28% more, steel by 31%, rolled steel by 31%, the company said.

"The Mountain Department was also able to significantly increase the production of iron ore concentrate both compared to the previous month – by 14%, and compared to April of last year – by 112% (from 351 thousand tons to 744 thousand tons)", – added in " ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih".
